About

AboutMe2019

Fond greetings, World – my name is Sooz.

I write and photograph and camp and sing loudly at karaoke and garden and dance around the kitchen while I’m baking and draw and paint and wander and explore.

In March of 2012, I followed my crazy to the utmost limit when my husband, dog, and I uprooted ourselves from everything we knew in Denver, CO to start a fresh existence in New Orleans, LA.

This life of mine became so exciting and wonderful and scary and intriguing. After a long haul, we finally nestled into our New Orleans home. Now we’ve been here for over 5 years (7 to be exact which means I’ll have to come back in and update this part every year, ha) and while the Newness has worn off, there still really is never a dull moment and I refuse to get bored ever.

So here are my experiences, my observations, and my randoms.  I follow my crazy, and I write about it here.  Welcome.

Thanks for visiting my blog Sooz! Happy Mardi Gras to you! I love your blog and WHEN you move back home (you were born here, that counts to us) it’s gonna be so awesome! Next year, the Super Bowl in the Super Dome and we all KNOW the Saints will be in the Super Bowl…what could be better than that?!
I’ll be blogging all about carnival so, be sure to check in over there!

    1. Yay, thank YOU for visiting in return! Am thinking of everyone down there today, no mistake! So can’t wait to get ourselves down there – we’re trying to gain some sort of employment before we go…but it’s hard, doing it long distance. Might just have to be brave and bite the bullet, but we’ll see as things progress. But YES, what a year to make it, can’t wait for that Superbowl!!

  4. Saved as a favorite, I like your site!

I just read your last post written last week so I’m assuming you made it here – hurray!! Welcome, welcome, welcome. I’m looking forward to reading your musings of the Crescent City and to, maybe, meeting you one day. xoxo

Well, Sooz, as the man said, “You can run but you cannot hide!” I finally got up on here and have it set up on the ol’ bookmark bar. I always knew you could write, but needless to say I’m really impressed with my kid. I hope you can get squared away down there pretty soon, so we can return there, too.

    1. Yay yay YAY! Hi dad!!!!

I’m glad you made it over here, and that you Dig it. 😀 And thank you, the compliment on writing means the most coming from you!

Still working on the Getting Squared Away thing – I’ve always known that it takes time, but it’s still hard to be patient! More news forthcoming, via email! Because yeah, ya gotta be here!

Just postin’ to say I still love reading what you write, and misses you. There’s times lately I think of ‘pullin’ a Merlot’ and just taking off without a plan, like you did.

    Magpie

    1. HI MAGPIE! 😀 It’s funny, about an hour before this showed up in my inbox, I was actually thinking about you, and wondering how you were, and if you were still out there readin’. So that is awesome.

As far as “pullin’ a Merlot,” I don’t blame you. It has had it’s fair share of challenges, and ups and downs, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
